I've noticed is a lot of vehicles(newer mostly) dont match front and rear gear ratios. EX: rear 4:10 front 4:09 this is fine if there is some slippage of the tire but if no slipage is occuring wear faster.
This had been an enormous problem for Ford when they released a Ridgeline-like coupé-utility with 4WD in Brazil, but the difference between the axles was greater. More than 35mph with the 4WD engaged would damage its rear axle severely...
