So, was at the Autogeek.net's detail fest this weekend working my companies booth. Had a good turnout and got to hang out with some cool peeps!! Barry Meguiar, Matt steele, Bruno Massel ect...

So anyhow... I showed the 3M guys their my headlights.. asking if they had any solution to fixing them... he said they were bad but he gave me a lens restoration kit for free.. told me if it worked just to review it on the webz a few places... so off to the races I went!!! My lights actually came out better than I was expecting...

I will let the pics talk!

Pretty cool but without some type of sealer the plastic will just yellow out again even quicker that before. The polishing process removes the sealer from the plastic, so you are basically left with bare plastic to fade and yellow again.

Not knocking the kit at all, I have a kit that was sent to me to test. It doesn't have the fancy pads and compound. But it does have all the sand paper you need and the oh so important sealer. I just haven't had the time in the past month to find a donor to do a true comparison of the product. So for all I know it could be a pile of shit!

Get some good pics and see how it looks this fall. I'm really trying to find a kit that actually lasts like they all claim they do.

I have done it with the compound I got from you, Jarrod

The 3m polishing compound works great, too in the purple bottle. I just use the foam pads I use for paint. Makes a damn mess, so those that kit Brian showed would work better.

Looks good, Brian!

I have done mine on my 06 with the Adam's polish also and I like that the 3M kit has the sanding pads and the foam buffing pads. I've just been looking around trying to find the best complete kit that actually lasts the longest and protects. If I can find what I'm looking for I would consider carrying it for sale. To set yourself up with polishing stuff from Adam's to do just the headlights would cost $100.

That's just not a good value in my opinion when other companies like 3M have kits for half as much or less. I'm not knocking anybodies kit just trying to find the best bang for the buck before I invest in stocking one.

Yeah the 3M guy said that exact thing. I gotta keep em waxed and rub compound on em every 6 months or so. Thats not too bad to deal with... better than spending hundreds on headlights lol
