If i did go with the 454 in the nova-what do i need to do? Will the motor mounts... for the 350 that was in it work? Anything i need to know to make the switch?
Great news-i called the badger piston company and checked with them on the piston casting number B557 thats in it and well it turns out they are 10.250 to 1 pistons afterall---so the 350 is a 4 bolt block-turned 10 crank-its balanced- 30 over 10.250 to 1 pistons-iv got it all cleaned up and waiting to find some good casting heads-im looking for some 76cc.
Another "great news" update-i was checking on the crank in the 350 mentioned above-turns out it has NF stamped on it---which means it is a nodular crank-Yea!!!
Anyone happen to know-Iv got a holly carb that has those glass see through to check your fuel float level-well i broke one trying to pull it out-its kinda half in-half out---do those just suppose to pull out or are they unmoveable? Before i try to get it out i just wanna make sure they can be replaced-thanks.---do they screw in and out or just pull out?
Sorry fellows-im just going to use what i got-350 or the 454. Im still kinda undecided but everyone here seems to side with the 350-and the 350 is a good 350-bored 30 over -4 bolt block -balanced-nodular crank-it will take alot less money to do the 350 vs the 454 at this point so its looking like the 350. I can take alittle more time with the 454 an put it in something else.
