This pic shows the troublesome area...the thin strip below the 3rd brake light is very flimsy and wants to bow out when you tighten the screws. many people had issues with this on the CorvetteForum and many returned theirs. There is a huge bitch thread about it. But, being an Engineer, I figured it out. I simply used the black (Negro ) RTV sealant to adhere the strip to the brake light housing on the backside. I used rubber bands to "clamp" it overnight until it cured. Installed it today and it worked. And it's silicone sealant so it's not permanent as you need to replace the brake light housing if it burns out.

It still looks fucking awesome. I always hated the "typically GM" ugly ass third brake light on those cars. This cleans up the styling nicely.
