'24 Ram 3500

I'll start a thread for my 2024 Ram 3500 that I bought December 29, 2023. Nothing fancy here, it is used for towing and hauling.

Here is what I started with. Ram 3500 Tradesman. Only options were an upgraded 8.4 stereo with nav, and the functional items like a camper prep group, a fifth wheel / goose neck prep group, and 4.10 gears.

First mod. You can't see it by looking at the truck, so no picture.
I've owned several dually trucks over the years, and one thing they all have in common is that the paint on the rear fenders is easily damaged. When on gravel roads the front tires throw rocks at the front side of the flared rear fenders and cause rock chips. And if you are using the truck to tow a fifth wheel or goose neck trailer you are always leaning across the tops of the fenders to reach the hitch when hooking up or unhooking the trailer, and it causes fine scratches in the paint on the top of the fenders. To prevent those problems on this truck the first mod was PPF applied to the entire rear fenders. Then, because this truck has to live outside in the elements, the entire truck was ceramic coated.

Next mod.
A Dee Zee rubber bed mat. I've always liked the quality and durability of these mats, so I used the same brand as prior trucks this time as well. It protects the bed floor and helps prevent a slide in camper from moving around.

Running boards by Go Rhino and mudflaps by Duraflap. Again, products I have used before and know that they work. The mud flaps do little to protect the paint of the truck, except for the few feet right behind the front tire. They do a good job of keeping mud and rocks off of the running boards. The running boards keep rocks from hitting the rear fenders. And if an errant rock does manage to get past the mud flaps and the running boards, the paint is protected with PPF.

Next:
To help with swaying with a large slide in camper, a Hellwig Big Wig anti-sway bar is installed.



There are two main brands of anti-sway bars made for a Ram 3500, Hellwig and Roadmaster. The Hellwig anti-sway bar mounts to the back of the axle and the ends extend backwards. The Roadmaster anti-sway bar mounts under the axle and the ends extend forward. You could use one or the other, or since they don't interfere with each other at all, both could be used together if you wanted serious anti-sway control. I chose Hellwig because it has a simpler installation (no holes need to be drilled in the frame).

This is a 2024 and I already see some rust in areas. That's bull crap on the manufactures end.
