What is a "valid reason" Brian?
What is your "valid reason" for not liking anything that is not GM?
1969 is the first gen Camaro Brian...lol. yes, the 67-68s were slightly different, and nice, but Ilike the 69 better. It's wider and handled better.
The reason's I have for not liking auto's that are not GM seem to be magnificently more valid than your reasoning for not liking the Camaro...
1. I get GM pricing and incentives due to family members that work/worked for GM and family and friends that work as Sales & Fleet management.
2. When I buy a vehicle, I want to be able to work on it and enjoy working on it if the occasion for something to go wrong with my auto's takes place.
I have "yet" to have a foreign make or something not GM that I "enjoyed" working on. Some of my top 5 hates when it comes to working on cars are Honda's with alternators on the bottom of the engine. Working on the ground you have to unbolt the engine mounts and lift the engine out of the car a few inches just to get it to clear the control arm. Similar pain as the second in my top 5, Corolla also had alternators that are on the bottom of the engine. Third, I had a ford excursion that I would have loved to find a engine for but the quickest and easiest way to pull the engine would be to pull the body off of the chassis(similar to some procedures with the superduty when engine related repairs need to take place, I got lucky on the f450 I sold last winter). Fourth, troubleshooting Honda ECM/TCM issues. (I will say that I have had much luck with simply replacing resistors and capacitors but one car caused me to have to buy another tcm for whatever reason). And fifth, I preferably try to stay away from autos with timing belts.
I think the only exception of this is the Mitsubishi 3000gt and Dodge Stealth. They are pretty unreliable cars and most mechanics in the past were afraid to work on them but they really aren't that bad once you work on them often. I bought eight GTS and stealth's this year. Probably made more money on those than any other car I've touched this year.
3. I haven't seen a Honda or any other car that simply, flat out beat anything GM I've owned in overall cost of ownership and reliability. I haven't had a need to buy anything else or even liked other car's. And honestly, as much as I work on other cars more than I do my own vehicles, sometimes I just wish people would take care of their crap a little more!
So, again, was there a valid reason why you don't like the Camaro?
Really, I'm okay if Jeff, "just" don't like a camaro!
