Some info from Motor Trend

Instead of seeing this as a rehashed truck from another market, though, it's more accurate to look at it as a scaled-down Silverado, as few of the chassis components are shared with the global truck. The frame is about 40 percent lighter than the global Colorado's frame; the new unit is fully boxed and uses liberal amounts of high-strength steel. Comparing crew cab to crew cab, the Colorado is 900 pounds lighter, 5 inches narrower, 3 inches lower, and 16 inches shorter than the Silverado.

I know they've all but said the V6 is going to be the 3.6, but that new torquey Gen V 4.3 would be a pretty sweet mill for a truck of this size.

Altough this one has a smaller engine, it's kinda weird that it has a more sophisticated engine than the Silverado since a compact/midsize truck is theorically intended to be cheaper.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
I saw something that said they're having a diesel for this. :pimp:

I'm not a compact truck type of guy, but I am keeping tabs on this one :lurker:

They stated its supposed to get a 2.8L 4 cylinder turbo diesel for 2016. But a lot can change between now and then. :dunno:

I had a similar reaction when I read that. Why even fWONkin' announce it right now if it's still another YEAR away from hitting the streets?!

I guess that gives me a year to save, look at other things, and probably buy something else! :jester: :uhoh:

Agreed. A LOT can change, like announcing something prematurely and giving your competition some time to respond (or at least have something THEY are talking about that will be out "next").. :nonod:
