Holy shit! Have you guys priced these things? A V6, 4x4 regular cab stickers for damn near $40k!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw "base price: $35k," Although, the base price MT quoted was for an SLE, not a WT. It looks like whatever they're calling the WT now starts out at a little north of $27k for 2WD truck.

Local dealer here is selling RCSB trucks for 23 grand. Basic, no doubt... but cheap.

My '91 RCSB 4x4 305 with manual tranny and manual doors/windows was $16,500-ish brand new so 23 is not bad, given inflation, etc. That said, it's too bad it balloons so rapidly as soon as you add the first option.

Yeah, those aren't bad, but like Tobias said, as soon as you add an option it goes rapidly out of control. The dealer I bought my truck from is the largest truck dealer in the northeast. They have 202 silverados in stock. they have one RCSB WT at 24k, one RCSB WT at 27k, and then it goes to 31k and skyrockets from there.

I like my toys and have no problem paying the premium for them, but I think (way) back to my younger, poorer days and it would have been a bummer to have a choice of a stripped WT or nothing.
