Meanwhile, back here in the 3rd-world the thieves don't usually attempt to steal a car with automatic transmission, because they wouldn't know how to shut its engine off. With a manual transmission it's easier, one just needs to release the clutch while idling on gear. On a sidenote, I would never do that without the parking brake applied.
