Here's my 2012 GMC Canyon that I use for commuting to work every day, and for exploring the back country on weekends.

What I started with:

2012 GMC Canyon Crew Cab 4x4
5.3 V8
4.10 gears
leather interior

Modifications:

Dynomax cat back exhaust
Rancho 4" suspension lift
285/70R-17 Falken Wild Peak AT tires
Pro Comp 17x8.5 wheels
ARB Air Lockers front and rear
Warn M8000 winch
Trail Gear Rocksliders
Spray-in bedliner
Weatherguard all purpose chest

Love it. I had an 05 Canyon and I liked it. Had the I5 in it. Was pretty gutless. Can't imagine how that 5.3 is. Truck looks great.
