I think the Raptor is worth it if that's what you want out of a truck. It's easily the most capable off road stock truck available right now. You know there will be plenty of aftermarket stuff available for it... but parts will be expensive due to the low volume vehicle.

I was thinking the same thing. Isn't the Raptor specifically for off road, or is there also a street version? Never mind that question. I remember reading where they came out with an off road version only. Ah hell. What do I know. I'm a Chevy guy.

whats it capable of?!
I guess we'll have to find out what the limits are. It's capable of a lot more off roading than the typical "4x4" package truck for sure.

The only problem with the Raptor vs. say something like the Lightning. Most people aren't going to push the limit of a Raptor by pounding the chit out of it off road. It's too expensive of a pickup for average the average truck buyer to shred. Now the Lightning being a street truck probably meet it's limits way more then most Raptors ever will simply because it's a street truck.

Of course all this applies to now, in a little while Raptors, just like Lightnings will be sold used for far less then they sold for new allowing more people that are likely to truly lay down a thrashing on it then the original owner who dropped nearly 50k for it.

thats the thing, we really havent seen what it is capable of by owners

they showed test videos and everything but not like everyday people that take it out for off roading trips with their friends

I forget the exact specs but it has more clearance than a generic 4x4, wider track width and like twice the suspension travel, amongst other things.

id say its worth it. putting a lift kit on a 4x4 truck doesnt increase the travel... price up a long travel kit and see how much that costs....
