Well.. Jas is right.

The 6 is impressive regardless of how the test numbers shake out in the magazines. You can bet that if Ford makes the power they claim with it, there will be plenty of people buying one!

It's got me rethinking about not buying a new truck, that's for sure! When they hit the lots I'm damn sure driving one! I'm not crazy about that bodystyle, but with a few changes they're not bad. The FX2 in the picture may even suit my taste just fine...:naughty:

That engine might be just the ticket in a RCSB truck! :naughty:

I was thinking that as well. Wonder is they're offering a manual transmission too!?!?!

Does Ford offer manual trannys in non-work truck trims at all? I know GM quit doing that...:(

As of 2011, no more manual trannies in a Ford truck at all, even in the SD line. The new 6.2 gas and 6.7 diesel in the Super Duties both come standard with a 6 speed auto with a "manual" mode, with no option for a true manual transmission. I guess my work truck (10 F350 4x4 v10 6 speed) is one of the last of it's breed. As a matter of fact, the only fullsize to still offer a manual transmission option is the Dodge Ram 2500/3500 with the Cummins.

Impressive.

Edit: God damn. The 3.7L V6 (non turbo) outperforms the 5.3L from GM.
It is impressive, but I hate those home brew tests. They have a lighter truck going up against a 2500HD 6.0L in a 40-70 acceleration test. The fact is the 6.0L joe blow in the HD GM trucks will still have more low end torque where it's needed against a boosted v6 with big high highway torque.
If the graphics are correct, they are both pulling a 10,000 lb trailer. That should more than equal out the weight differences in the pickups.
