As long as GM sticks to turbo 6's not 4's in their trucks, sure, boost away...

A twin-turbo V6 would be nearly obvious but I wouldn't doubt a turbo inline-4 would also be offered for the 1/2-tonners...

I think even GM would know that the only truck a turbo 4 has a place in is the Canyon/Colorado...

NO!! They finally made the 5.3L a factory option on those!

I don't see a turbo 4cyl even an option for full-size trucks....well, maybe unless it is a HUGE 4cyl.

Impressive gain, but I'm waiting to see the longevity/durability of this setup.

It's true, but there are the bureaucrats and their freak ideas. BTW what about the 2.9L 4-banger currently offered in the Canyon? If bored up to 3.0L or 3.2L and then turbocharged wouldn't be so bad for a 1/2-tonner Silverado, and seems to be cheaper to build than a DOHC V6 on the same displacement.

From the factory, those 5.3 GMT-355s are dogs. They stuffed so much torque management in it, that it's slower than a 1/2 ton

That engine is already bored out from 2.7L... I doubt they have much more room to go.

Turbo 6s are for the WEAK! Plus...GMs marketing department is not good enough to trick people into a V6 with V8 mileage.

GM needs to improve what they already do best...building efficient, powerful V8s. The 5.3 gets similar mileage to that V6...GM has a great foundation to start with.

I want them to bring back the 350. The marketing possibilities are endless...

Buick GNX? Yes, that was such a WEAK Turbo V6... Syclone/Typhoon? Such a WEAK turbo V6... At the time, it was the fasted truck on the market. :pfingers:

And bringing back an outdated engine design isn't the best idea...

Unless you mean building a factory 5.7L LS based engine

Halo products. We are talking about an every day appliance. There is a difference.

Well, yeah...a modern 350. Not the same 350 that they had in 1968. Something that gets BEST in class mileage (and not just on the EPA test) while being a bridge between the 5.3 and 6.0.
