Great review Greg! I agree entirely. We rented one when we went to Vegas. It was great, but pulling the mountains between Palm Springs and Vegas I put it in the manual mode to reduce the fear hunting. I loved the 6 speed everywhere else but with that much weight and the gearing it wasn't great for elevation. I'm sure Justin could fix that if I owned one though.

I glance through the owner's manual while we were trying figure out what some of the buttons on the dash were for. I thought I saw the engine was bigger than the 5.3, 6.0 comes to mind. Is that possible? If had the 5.3, then I'm really impressed with that motor.

Unless it was the 2500 then it had the flex fuel 5.3.

It would have been a 5.3. It's in all of the 1/2 ton Suburbans.

Going through the 2012 "build it" thing on Chevy's website, I'm only seeing the 5.3L available.. :dunno:
