Just got the report back from Blackstone. This is a friends daughters vehicle. She was supposed to come in at 15k miles but like most teenagers time got away from her. The air filter was replaced at the last oil change. This oil was in for one year and it ran an Ea15k oil filter. The vehicle sees a ton of back country road driving.
Code:
Considering this oil saw over 20,000 miles of use, this is a pretty darn good sample overall. Aluminum is a touch
high, which could show some piston wear. You might be able to get it down a little with a shorter oil run. Check the air
filter/intake for leaks or problems in case silicon is abrasive too. The TBN was low at 0.0 (anything less than 1.0 is low),
but if that doesn't bother you, then put a few more miles on your next oil and see what happens. Averages are based
on just 5,000 miles, so the high iron reading is okay, and fuel at 1.0% is no problem either. Nice!
