Okay cool yeah it does look good, I can definably work with a template like that, any close ups. I definably think the bags will help even with small loads, plus they're not expensive.

Also, people are trying to discourage me because i only have a Chevy 1500 it has the 200hp V6. Is this something that should deter me from starting the project. The good news if it isnt i should be able to start next weekend and i plan to be done in time for work monday morning... or close to it.

Don't let the fact that it is a 1500 with a v6 deter you. Set it up to work for YOU and how YOU use it. If you are hauling that much stuff and loading with a forklift.....a flatbed makes total sense. You might want to browse some of the web sites for commercial flatbed manufacturers to see if you can "borrow" some design ideas.

thanks for the confidence boost i think ill go ahead and tackle the project my thought is with all the rhino liner and weight of the bed if i used a wood floor the weight should be comparable and with the air bags itll make life and gas consumption a little easier

Welcome! And yes, we like pics. :D

Sounds like a good idea and I would definitely put airbags in too; especially if you haul regularly. If you are willing to sacrifice ride quality all the time, maybe you can put some 3/4 ton leaf springs in. I don't know what the 10-bolt axle is rated for, but if you're worried about breaking that, could you put a 14-bolt semi-float under there and keep your 6-lug wheels?

I have no idea how easily stuff is interchangeable on the GMT800's (99-06/07 trucks).

So now you're gonna try to get the Ford and use it as the flatbed? Sounds like a good idea since the chassis will be able to handle anything you want to haul.

So....about those pics of your Silverado.........:D

:worthless:

Sorry, I had to. I'm surprised no one used it yet.
