Hey guys i need some help on a 2000 Ford Taurus ive been working on.

When i started out i had 7 codes.... I have fixed all those codes but one.

Copy and paisted from a taurus forum
============================================

I have a 2000 Taurus 3.0L Duratec... Have had a few other issues with it .. And have got all fixed but i keep getting a p0302. Here are a few of the things i've did or replaced leading up to this.

Replaced with new...

EGR Valve
EGR solenoid
EGR pressure sensor
IAC valve
New Injecor on #2 cylinder.
All new injector orings
Intake gaskets upper and lower.
New plugs in all holes
New coil and boot on #2
Replaced alot of the vacumme boots
Fuel filter
Fuel injector pigtails

Fuel pressure KOE-Off pressureized to 52 then dropped to 44... and stayed..

With key off... The pressure would slowly drop off

Pressure running at idle was 29

At idle.... It seem pretty smooth.. If you rev it up really easy... Its smooth. But if to rev it hard it studders. And if you are cruising and stomp the gas it surges really bad.

Any ideas?

First off I'm glad to see you're still alive, been wondering where you got off to. On the car, can't help much, but I'll think on it.

Fuel pressure regulator...

If I am not mistaken... fuel pressure should be 45 running...

I think those specs are better than what the manual says. I will double check those though.

My manual says 30-45 with KOEO on fuel pressure. :wtf:

You said you were at 29 idle....
That's JUST SLIGHTLY UNDER the lower limit....
As you try to drive it... I bet it is dropping too low to be used by the injectors.

Put the pressure gauge on it and tape it to your windshield and try to drive it...

I bet the pressure drops when you give it gas and try to take off.

Also it shouldn't IMMEDIATELY leak down and lose pressure.... it should hold pressure for a little bit.

One more thing.... I think that one has a vacuum hose on it...
Pull the vacuum hose and see if there is any evidence of fuel...
Smell the hose ... see if it smells of fuel.
If it does... replace the regulator.

Coil packs are a known failure on the Taurus. The one I had replaced on one of my company cars was fine at normal light acceleration but missed like hell under load.

Keyon engine off.. Should be 30-45 (per the manual) (I've read online a few different things though)

Mine is at 52 and pressurizes and dropped to 44....

And i check the regulator witht he smell test ... It was fine..

I wish i could figured out a way to get a driving down the road reading...

I've replaced the one on that cylinder. That its throwing the code on. But thats thats sorta how it is...Runs decent on slow to normal accel ..... but beyond that it misses like hell and surges

I've been looking at that... My hose is not long enough... I got a camera i might set it all up under the hood and try to record it.
