Looks great! Needs bigger/meatier tires, looked kinda funny even stock with the small tires on a big jeep imo.

Thirsty thursday dinner at my buddies house.

Where are you going to school? You should be able to escape for a test & tune night sometime this fall right? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that i have the chance to get those new wheels/tires that i want for my truck... if that works out, i'll be back to a normalish diameter and cut down the weight per wheel by a good 20lbs. I'd like to run it at the track with that setup...

I'm transferring to Rutgers. I'm sure I'll be able to some time this fall, I just want to give it a month or so to get into the swing of things.

It's going to be really weird not having my truck, I've driven EVERYWHERE since I got my license 3 years ago, and I've never lived anywhere where driving wasn't necessary.

For the jeep, they'll be here before the end of September

Dan, Rutgers MAE right? You should do the aerospace option :naughty:

Yup, but I think I'm too dumb for the aerospace stuff.

I've actually been seriously thinking about trying to direct myself towards something engine related. With all of the changes that are going to have to occur within the next few decades, it seems like it wouldn't be a bad area to be involved in.

I really don't know, though.

I wouldn't limit yourself to automobiles. #1: every mechanical engineer has the same mindset. #2: job opportunities are limited to specific areas for R&D.

If you do the Aerospace option, you get the same MAE degree as everyone else but you get an additional Aerospace Engineering certificate... it greatly broadens your employment range and most importantly, looks impressive on the resume :naughty:

There's only one ICE (internal combustion engine) specific course at Rutgers... and you can still take it as a tech elective even if you're doing the aero option.

We'll definitely have to talk about all of this in person some time. When between now and the 25th would you be able to head down to Atco? (The only options are really this Thursday, Friday, or next Tuesday the 24th).

I still really have NO idea what I want to do with the rest of my life, that's the main reason I'm going for M.E. is because of how broad it is (my Dad designs HVAC systems for pharmaceutical companies, and you work for the Navy, for example). Ever since I decided on M.E. though, going into something non-flying-vehicle-related has just seemed like the most appealing thing, whether it's cars, or bulldozers.

I don't know, I haven't had the opportunity to talk to anyone who knows anything yet, spending 2 years at Mercer (and ending up having less than 1 year's worth of credits transfer) is one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Hopefully I'll be able to find someone at RU to talk all of this sh*t out with.

next tuesday would be the best bet... assuming we dont get into the playoffs. Or, we can forego the track (if we dont make playoffs) and you can come over and play volleyball; i was planning on "continuing" the season at my house on tuesdays when the beach league ends..

And we do need to talk. Getting the Aero cert doesnt limit you to things that fly... you have the same M.E. degree as everyone else so you can still get that bulldozer job. It just broadens your potential job market. FYI one the the aerospace option classes is an extensive aerodynamics class.... aerodynamics is important for more than just airplanes (cough fuel economy cough). Instead of taking ICE you can take aerospace propulsion... learn more about jet engines to broaden your knowledge beyond the "simple" workings of what powers our trucks, of which you already know a lot about (hint... this is a good interview topic... it shows that you chose your classes with logical reasoning).
