Haha, gotcha . You don't hear of too many conventional-oil-changes doing an analysis, I'd be interested what the results would be on your 3k-mile-oil-change. Just to compare the results, I think that would be interesting.

Remember, there is more to it than just the oil properties. What about contaminants (carbon, fuel impurities, etc)? I prefer to flush away those contaminants every 3K miles personally. Yes, the filter does trap some of them, but for 1yr/10K miles?

In our climate, we get a lot of condensation, especially in the winter-time.

To each their own, but I prefer CLEAN oil in my engine, regardless of how well it retains it's properties.

+1... Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and OEM filter every 5k/5months. Zerks? I don't have no stinking zerks! Well, OK, I do on each end of the driveshafts, but that's it
