Picked up this truck from a friend who kinda donated the truck when we were looking for a backup truck. This was a huge help when we sold the 2011 3500HD and bought the 2014 3500HD. It took us about 2 weeks to get the truck home and build the dump bed.
Anyways, the guy we got the truck off of said it didn't run. I brought the enclosed trailer to retrieve it and we were able to push it in pretty easily. We moved some vehicles around at the shop and needless to say it wasn't a easy task getting the truck up the hill into the shop. The truck was retrieved from the original owner and it had been sitting for 5 years. He bought the truck new but hadn't a use for it with company provided vehicles. We took a battery charger up to the truck late that night to see what it would sound like to crank it and it started right up! We felt so dumb...
Anyways, just did a 375k tune up. The truck hadn't been running the last couple weeks and I thought it was due to the time chain being stretched hence some backfiring that would happen when you tried to start Earl. Well, the timing chain wasn't the problem. It was slightly loose but not the problem. We also replaced the Cam shaft position sensor later to find out that it was a faulty aftermarket cap on the distributor. He runs good again getting some more miles down. Another road trip coming soon...

We put some hefty shocks on Earl so I'll need to get that info in here. We do some towing with the truck and it doesn't seem to mind it. We also did the steering wheel/shaft repair. It had some play in it that reminded you of a 70's model truck.
I'll post updates in here from time to time.
