Why buy new when you can restore?
I've been debating whether or not to use that bumper on my truck. The only thing is, it is only available in 2 configurations: with license plate and no rub strip / snouts OR with license plate / rub strip / snouts. I like the rub strip to break up all the chrome on the front end, but I really don't want snouts or the holes to be there. I might have to go with one with no rub strip.Lookin' good Greg!
So you're painting the bumper, what about the grill?
Are you putting lights in the bumper? It looks like there are buckets in them. I thought they were wide open behind them for extra airflow.
The grille will stay chrome.
There were foglight buckets in the bumper (it was a Z71 bumper) I welded tabs on the bottom to add lights. The Hellas I picked up at a swap meet are too big.I still may add lights, I just like the look.
Diesels had this bumper (in chrome) for airflow.

Now the buckets make more sense. I forgot the Z71 Tahoe had the lights in them. I think a light from the early 88-89 with the quad beam will fit. I'm not totally sure though.
I still may add lights, I just like the look.
