It was just as clean. But since is that black composite plastic, it wouldn't have shown up on a pic anyway.

Hell yeah, that is clean. I've been running full synthetic in my truck since I bought it with 68K on the clock in January of '10. Started out with Valvoline, and switched to Amsoil. It now has just under 117K on it.
