'09 Lancer GTS

Anyone have any experience with mitsubishi or the lancers specifically? Been needing a new work car since my 03 Grand Prix has about had it. Looking for something reliable and I test drove the lancer and love the car for looks and ride comfort power is decent for a 4 banger. And I can get it for a decent price and make out pretty good trading the Grand Prix in.

Any thoughts or advice? Never owned a vehicle that's wasn't a dodge, Chrysler, Chevy or Pontiac lol

I would not trust a Mitsubishi beyond the 70K mark. They are notorious for biting it.

BUT

Our youngest daughter had a new Lancer that she put 60K on before she got her Accord and it never failed her.

Mitsubishi's can me pretty nightmarish outside the confines of a warranty. I guess within the confines too.

One of my really good friends had a Galant and it struggled to get 130k out of it. It was costly. So many electrical issues with that car.

I personally wouldn't mess with it. I've always heard horror stories about Mitsubishi's.

I've had a couple Mitsus and DSMs and it seemed like I was constantly doing something to them but when they ran they ran well. A buddy of mine has a Lancer but its an Evolution and he's had to rebuild the engine with 100k on the clock.
