'01 Tahoe transmission issue

Last time I talked to my brother (about 2 weeks ago) he said he still never even had anyone look at it. He said its still just parked right now. I told him several times that it might simply be a bad sensor or something, but he still wont find the time to have anyone even look at it for him.

He is still looking for another transmission. He said a guy has an engine and transmission from a 2006 Escalade with less than 40k miles on it. Still hasn't given him a price though.

I don't see why not. It should be a straight swap.
I know he will have to remove the drive by wire throttle body and use the original one on the Tahoe. And it will need a tune , but not sure about anything else.
Most everything should fit, the body style didn't change and there are only very minor other changes on the chassis.
