What you need is one of these its makes things very easy for mounting a gauge. Thread your sending unit in the top and the fluid goes thru side to side. As for a pan look no further IMO then the Derale cooling tube pan. Extra 3 quart capacity and it WILL drop your temps 20 degrees on its own. If...
Well according to TCI and B&M as long as your fluid temps reach 100 degrees your fine. That is the operating temp the fluid must reach. My fluid temps towing are around 165. About 150 when unloaded. Also temps over 180 and your fluid is on the decline as far as effectiveness goes. Unless of...
Thanks Big Blue now I have a model number for the people at the Home Depot to look up. Also you mentioned you replaced the material inside with something else. Wasn't it air conditioner filter material. I remember reading it somewhere once but don't remember where.
Well BigBLue I went to Lowes the other day and my hideously SMALL Lowes don't carry the air/water seperator it in stock. What a Bummer. Perhaps I can find at Harbor Freight or Home Dump-O.
Well I think I am going with a Rev Max Converter. They seem to get good reviews and there reasonably priced. They seem to abuse them in the thread below and they are standing the tests.

Not necessarily looking for a specific stall converter. I do a lot of heavy towing. I do want a lil more stall speed then stock. I do know that a smaller converter that is loosened up will make better use of the available power. It takes torque to stall a converter.
It says at the top of the page for the converter lockup. I called TCI and they said it is a lockup converter as well. Keep in mind I have the Vortec 454. I see you have a 6.0L how did it respond to a new converter?
Hi guys has anyone ever tried putting a different converter behind there Big Block. I am curious to get opinions. Below is the converter that I am looking at. Suppose to minimize slippage a little higher stall speed and drops temps 20 degrees. Being is has less slippage it would create more...
If you still run into a prob with overheating. If it is a 4.3L V6 in the blazer you could get a bad ASS water pump from Stewart Components. Get a stage 2 pump for it and DARE it to overheat. Also if you go that route they will recommend you run straight water with a RUST Inhibitor/ water pump...
Not the Z06 engine itself. I used a bad choice of words. I mean a 7.0L LS Series engine. I wasn't sure if many new that the corvette ever got a 427. Also that 427 has been replaced its now only 6.2L again. So to me that says they are making way for it to see the fender wells of an HD truck.
The rumor out there for those wondering. Well the way I understand it the HD trucks will be getting the 7.0L that was in the Z06 corvette. NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT. 427 cubic inches is a step in the right direction.
That diesel is nice no doubt. But all things considered I'll keep my big block. 17 miles to gallon is nice. My big block will do 14 MPG and I don't have a nasty payment and gas is cheaper. I am waiting for the new BIGGER gas engine in a couple more years. Just my opinion. Not looking to start a...
Hi guys! If you want strength and a G80. Swap the rear end out for a 14 bolt FF. The G80 in the 10.5 inch ring gear is alot stronger. I have done a couple burnouts in my dually and it held together. Granted I don't do it very often been I have done it. Had to prove my tuned big block has good...
Well I have the Magnaflow 12468. It drones with my big block but not as bad as the Flowmaster 50 series big block muffler. I do like the sound of the magnaflow alot better. It has a deeper tone to it. It drones the most at about 1700-2000 rpm. Get above that and it quiets down. Of course it a...
Yeah get rid of the vacumn advance. Use the mechanical. Also if you have a higher compression. and assuming you have an MSD ignition.....get a timing computer for it. Not complicated you simply plug it into the MSD and the MSD does the rest. The timing computer will retard the timing 20 degrees...
The fan out front in front of condenser isn't coming on so maybe I need to replace that switch on the side of the head. I know which one it is. I replaced it on my 96. Never thought of that. As far as the condenser can it be cleaned with regular condenser cleaner like for home A/C's.
Hi guys in the fall before it got cold. My A/C would blow 31 degrees out of the vents. Now the winter has been really cold. The A/C here almost into summer only blows maybe 45. I know it didn't have any leaks in the fall. Could the cold weather have caused it to spring a leak. I have the Dye in...
You can use car tires but they have more flex in the sidewall. The sidewalls of a trailer tire are alot stiffer. Also if the trailer happens to sit for a while the car tires will dry rot as opposed to the trailer tires will resist longer.
I let mine warm up for a few minutes most days and a few more then normal on cold days. So 3-4 minutes most of the time and 5-10 on cold days. I am just starting to see the temp gauge move by that time. The transmission is the one I worry about more. I don't really get into the gas pedal till...
