LOL yea 20 years ago was a long time ago. Its about doubled in price now. But IMO there is no substitute. I have a different style that uses a screw down method which works just not as fast, I have used the ratchet compressor and it is definetly in my list of things to buy next.

The distributor housing has 2 pointers on the inside, 1 has the number 6 engraved in it and the other has the number 8 engraved in it. V8's should point to the number 8 printed on the housing it isnt actually...

Not only that when you buy them online chances are your getting blems. My wife and Kids ride in this truck so I wont be skimping on quality.
OK here's mine. Pictures would be nice since from your description I don't know if we are talking 2~3 year old in the box, or 2~3 years in service on the truck.
2~3 year old shocks aren't new but it would make a difference if they had been on the truck or just sitting in your garage in a box...
