I did alot of researching on regearing my truck after going with huge tires. But in the end, I found I didn't really have nothing to gain from spending the $3500 for the kit when the truck is already geared to run what I have without too much stress. And the MPG change wouldn't really make it...
Yep those sure do come in handy for sheet metal. Also a nice 16 once ball peen hammer and 2 2x4's in a vice work nicely without cracking the metal if having to bend against grain. Or a nice small bench mounted brake works well.
I know from working with a/c tires that looking at their shape isn't really a good indicator of air pressure, unless they are flat. In the winter months mine lose alot of pressure just due to the temp change. Normally I run 40 psi. In the winter I bump it up to 45. Just seems to ride and look...
Pull the tires off the rims. If you have a bead blaster, blast the inside portion of the rims. If you don't, take a wire wheel and get the inside all nice and shiny. That should help a bit.
