ended up getting the hawk superduty pads and ate slotted rotors, very happy with em so far, prob get the same setup for the front next year also got new front pads and rotors for the front of the 2wd ranger, centric rotors (couldn't find ate rotors for a 2wd) and hawk LTS truck and suv pads...

its a bit beyond surface rust (which wears right off anyway) and with that many towing miles i'd rather just get some nice high quality rotors and pads zembonez, thanks for the info, i will look into those

the rust is smack in the middle of the contact surface, personally i don't believe in turning rotors especially on a vehicle thats gonna put a lot of heat in them, seems to me they'd be more likely to warp, and they've got like 45k miles on em, of nothing but towing and hauling
