So...the 2017 upgrade is more than a few things. The new engine puts out 445hp/910ft/lb vs my 397/765, it's also got a new Denso injection pump so it will hopefully not have the issues the CP4 has had. Everyone that's reported back after buying or test driving says it's a monster and has...
They actually did it to due to fact that you could win the most races and still lose the championship to someone who was more consistently in the top 5/10. They also wanted to stop the situation that would happen every few years where someone would have the championship all but locked up with...
I stopped watching nascar regularly in the late 90s, mostly because I was busy racing on sundays myself. but even if i hadn't gotten out of it...."the chase" was bad enough. This is just ignorant. They're going to put the final nail in the coffin with this one.
I agree about not wanting to junk up the interior. That's what's kept me from buying one of these yet. The grab handle on the 15/16s makes it hard to do a clean mount over there. Ideally, I think I'd like the screen to be just above the brake controller over there. One really clean mount for the...
My understanding is that the CP4 in our trucks is an updated version that isn't quite as prone to failure as the earlier ones. If you're not going to make a ton of power/stressing the fuel, you should be ok with the CP4+lift pump setup. I'm sure Dennis will correct me if i'm off on this. :)

Gm rep got there today...known issue. Crystallization of the DEF in the injector limiting flow. They're replacing it. Rep said GM is working on a long term solution as they've seen this a bit.
Yep, 445hp/910ft-lbs. New Denso Injection pump etc. the L5P is supposed to be a hell of a beast. It'll be a nice upgrade in a couple years, once they're worked the kinks out.
One downside? They made the DEF tank even BIGGER:
Oh...also update on my truck: They called to say it was "fixed" but they don't know why it happened. I assume this means they just gave up and reset the computers. They said they had one other truck come in with the same issue. It hasn't come back since they "fixed it" but they asked if they...
Our trucks can be read with a tool as well. The DPF is obviously larger, as folks say the regen is at about 44g. There is also a pressure delta reading across the dpf that will indicate regen. If I can figure out a clean way to install it that makes me happy, I'll be looking at watching those...
The warranty and the cost of repairs to this drivetrain is my biggest concern about deleting. But then....if all the warranty work is *because* of the emissions stuff...that's annoying as hell. :)
Yeah, I'd be hard pressed to come up with another shortcoming outside the emissions system right now. The truck is amazing. I will say though that's those problems aren't limited to GM.
I had a VW sportwagen TDI...It didn't have urea because they didn't actually give a **** about the...
