    Air Filter!

I've never cleaned a filter before. Really should clean my Volant this summer. Is there any trick to it? How do you make sure you don't leave too much cleaner/oil on the filter?

Michigan Teen Lifts Car Off Trapped Grandfather

Wow, that'll make you think twice jacking up a car!! Just shows that even a $50 pair of jackstands is well worth it. Luckily it was an 80's Buick when they were still really light. I doubt that anyone could do that with a car today.

Hey Scotty! Need your input on a GMC Sierra audio upgrade.

You guys are looking at headunits that cost as much as my entire system!!! I'm a Kenwood fan (their Excelon line). That Advent looks nice, but if you're paying that kind of moneyz, you'd better be getting better sound quality! On a side note, I'm not a huge fan of all the chimes going...

    $4 gas coming - Those #%$&$%*

:werd: No more random trips shopping. Gonna have to plan ahead more and cut down on the in-town driving as much as possible. As long as it isn't raining, the motorcycle will be getting used. That doesn't mean I'm still not gonna have fun. :naughty:

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Drove it to work. Filled it up (just before it went up; nice to get text alerts when its about to go up (but don't get them when it goes down) and work 1 block from the gas station) with $50 and got 17.8mpg (been having warm weather). Just snagged a set of GM service manuals for the Z71 (here)...

    GMT400 CD Player Problem

What is a coaxial speaker? (never heard of that before) Is it different from a normal speaker? I tried finding a component setup that would fit in the factory spot, but I was unsuccessful.

    Add another one (again)

Looks great!!...except for the Cali-lean. The lift isn't overdone and is just the right height. Why the SAS? Wish I could find a truck that clean with that low of miles. :( Personally, I woulda kept it stock height and found some 454SS wheels for it.

    GMT400 CD Player Problem

Yes, there is a factory tweeter just in front of the power window/lock switches. I was unable to find an aftermarket speaker that would fit there. So you can either wire them in along with your new 6 1/2" speaker or leave them disconnected (like I did).

    Idle issue

Yeah, I'm going to try to replace everything I can while the trans is out (really don't want to take it out again until I have to rebuild the engine or another 100k mi), but should I mess with the engine seals at this time? On the idle issue, the truck seems to be doing better, but still...

Confirmed: Gen V Smallblock will be Direct Injection

Hmmmm....maybe I should wait and see if this would be a possible swap into the ZR2.....:naughty: My only question is will it be as cheap to get the Gen V as the Gen IV?

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

-Drove it to work. -Got it all dirty from our whopping 1" of snow. :fume: At least it stayed clean for 4 or 5 days! -Picked up flowers for the GF (ordered them ahead of time so they were set aside). -Filled it up. 16.4gal and $56 later; got 16.8mpg My gas gauge is WAAAAYY off. It was last...

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Took the dog to the vet. She has blood in her urine. Luckily it is just a UTI and nothing worse (she's 11 1/2 now and we were fearing the worst). Now she's on medication and a cranberry supplement for 2wks, then another urine test to make sure everything's fine again.

GARY!?!?!?!? What the heck is up with the pic??? Its changed 3 times on me just trying to quote everyone! Drove it. Currently it is being treated to a covered hiding place to avoid crystallized water pulled by gravity towards it. Also researching clutch replacement and wheel hub replacement.

    Idle issue

Nice parts list.  I'm searching, and guys are talking about replacing seals (some mentioned are the engine rear-main seal, and trans/t-case seals). Should I even try messing with the engine rear-main seal? I really don't want to fWONk something up.

    Idle issue

Yep. That's it!! I did the clutch on my old '94 2wd 2.2l and it took me 2 days without resurfacing the flywheel. It was an interesting learning experience that I wouldn't mind doing again if I had the right tools and time. I saw some of your posts over on ZR2usa. Seems like lifting...
