Okay....by bad....your weren't yanking my chain......LOL. Thanks for info. JOEGMC sent me a link that explained the ribbon wire to the airbag. Now just gotta figure out if it's worth the time and money to go in there and relocate wire so it doesn't rub.

Thanks Joe. No problems with the electrical part and I know airbag has never been deployed or replaced but the sound would be consistent with a flat wiring harness (ribbon) rubbing when steering wheel is turn. Now to decide if it worth trying to remove wheel and fix. Wouldn't want to screw it up...

This is definitely not clunking or rattling but Rubbing is a better description rather than squeaking. Anyone else have any suggestions?

The grand-daughter's 2008 Pontiac G6 we bought about a month ago has developed maybe not so much a squeak but more of a rubbing sound when you turn at slow speeds. Sounds like plastic or rubber....like the coating on the steering wheel is rubbing. This 100% not a steering shaft or link problem...

I check on Google as well and found conflicting answers. Of course on stated to hold unlock button on door down and other said hold lock button down on door to start the process so obviously one is wrong.....or worse....they are both wrong.

That's was my original thinking but haven't found anything yet. Problem is trying to find something in a 4-door but still looks sporty for a 16 yr old girl. That is probably correct but this particular car is an 2009 model and was first issued Salvage Title in Louisiana which meant damage was at least 75% of book value. Considerably more than just fender and tail light damage as seller first stated to me. I just have a bad gut feeling about the car...

Yep....ran away fast but learned a lot of good information for future reference. One thing was....even if you get a good deal on a used car...rebuilt title or not......must still pay 6.25% sales tax on what tag office says it's worth.....not what you actually paid!:(
