Just changed the oil today. After finally getting a 32mm socket I finally got the oil filter canister off. Now I can see how nice that setup is. Much cleaner than how it goes on my F150, nice not being on my back leaning up hand tightening the filter! Used an AcDelco PF457GF filter. The one I...

    Let's Talk Cars

MY Cavalier just did 30.8mpg  I'm 5'11 and find it uncomfortable though. Leg/foot room that is. Cup holder space sucks horrible too. My Neon had more room. Would still probably have it if it was not for the mechanical issues it had. Cheap @ss good running car for mpg DD ftw. In 2012 I...

Thanks for the good words guys! Just filled it up for the 2nd time. Very impressed, 30.8ampg! Best tank I have ever had on this car, and never even touched 30 with the Neon! Babying the go-go pedal some more, keeping 55 the avg speed, and leaving the house 10 mins sooner for work has had some...

Why Do Family Cars Need 300 Horsepower?

Over the years I noticed it too. Regular rides must be lightning fast anymore. Power is fun, but leave it to the sports cars and trucks.

My New (to me) 96 Chevy Silverado 2500

Good looking pickup! Very good for its age. :wtf: :rollin:

Finally filled it up for the second time. Little sucker can take 10 gallons, surprised me . 26.4 ampg, not bad, not much different from the Neon. Neon's worst was 25, best was 28.2. This 4spd auto is right up there with it. Ordered an Amsoil Ea filter for it, going to give it an oil change...

Ok thanks. Trans fluid, I haven't looked really. I'll make it a point to. I too prefer the idea of changing out to fresh fluids.

Thanks again Nick! Was going to talk to you about oil actually. I know nothing of this cars maintenance history, other than it has probably always had 5w30. Wont hurt it any to go full synthetic at 127k?

Thanks guys! Thanks Nick! 2004. Thanks! Yeah that is winter for ya! It snowed, turned to slush when it melted, and everyone is throwing it at everyone on the highway. Traded it for the Cavalier & some cash. Then they put it in the ditch :rollin:

    My new daily driver

Whats up guys. Well, 4 months I put 5,000 miles on the Neon. The transaxle leaked, it chugged/bucked, 5th gear syncros were a bit shot, and the engine ticked pretty good. I found a dealer 200 miles away that had a beautiful 2004 Cavalier LS Sport. Pretty much the car I originally wanted to go...

Ford Atlas unveiled at Detroit Auto Show

I dislike it. Pretty strongly... Eh. I like the F150 platform, that is probably about the only thing I really like about it. I do like the idea of standard bed lights, but if they are 5000k in color. Other than that, it reminds me too much of that ugly Super Chief concept.

    6000K HID's

Looks good. Glad to hear they are road friendly on your lifted rigg. I actually pulled the trigger and bought a set in H13 for my truck a few days ago. Hope to receive it soon.

    DarrenWS6's 2007 Lariat Supercrew

Big subtle changes planned this spring. Truck will be getting some suspension TLC, and a new pair of Nitto boots. My last inspection in October verified my lower ball joints are beginning to show signs of wear and will need replaced next inspection time. So I have until Oct 2013. The 33x12.5/R20...

    Control arm bushings?

Hey guys. This is going to be a big spring season for me, an expensive one at that. I am updating my truck's front end. Going with new ball joints, shocks/struts, and I am going to need new tires. I'm planning on Moog serviceable ball joints, Rancho QuikLifts, Rancho RS9000XL rear shocks, and...

New Pads & Rotors On The F-150

Glad to hear it brakes better. I used Powerslot slotted ( non cryo treated ) rotors and Hawk LTS semi-metallic pads, and Motorcraft calipers. Almost $600 in my brakes. So you got a very good deal on your parts!

    6000K HID's

Without a retrofit? Naughty naughty...... I am actually considering buying a headlamp set for my truck as I don't DD the truck anymore, but I still intend for a future retrofit. But I would love for everything to look ice blue like my fog lamps put out. They have a very nice sale going on...
