No problem. :)
I cleaned it with CRC Mass Airflow Sensor cleaner (gray/silver can) and used CRC Throttle Body cleaner on the TB.
Initial findings show that the rubber elbow that goes from the rubber elbow that connects the plastic tube from the valve cover to the intake "bonnet" (as some refer...
I will.
I wouldn't have thought to check that, but the thing is I didn't take it off. If I did, I would have replaced the gasket to be on the safe side like I did on the Z71.
Alright, so I cleaned my TB and cut off the diffuser lip by removing only the TB blade (the TB itself has never been off the truck nor have I unplugged the IAC or TPS; the only hose/line that has been touched is the hose going from the valve cover to the elbow that attaches to the TB itself). I...
Mostly for the brakes and added peace of mind. I've thought about disc brakes out back, but that would get kinda spendy and I'd still need to figure out a parking brake. And I'd like to have something a little stronger once the Whipple hits. The plan would be to put a TruTrac in the 14b and use...
The pipes would run similar to how they do now. They would just cross under the trans farther back.
I too have Tri-Y's and love them. They were on the truck when I bought it, but I'd buy them again!
Here's my exhaust thread.
Needless to say, for $90 the guy had several call on the axle and sold it in 2 days. :(
There's another guy 30min from me that will trade me a 3.42 14bsf 6-lug open diff (with supposedly just over 100k out of an '88) for my 10 bolt 3.42 open diff plus $200. I thought $350 was a little steep for...
Drove it to work. Washed it. Gonna go meet up with a co-worker that beat cancer in a little bit.
Listed a couple extra parts for the Z71 on CraigsList. Hopefully the sell!
EDIT: Found a 14bsf for it, but it's from an '88....should fit just fine though.
Took out the sandbags earlier this week (140lbs) and re-adjusted the TB butterfly. Seems to be working better now. It wasn't sticking before, but I was having the idle issues after removing the butterfly to cut off the diffuser lip. Now it seems to be idling much better. All I can think is that...
I'm sticking with the 350 because 1)I have a Whipple for it, 2)I have a marine intake for it, 3)my exhaust is already done (including headers), and 4)it came stock in the truck. Basically, I'm too far into it to even think about swapping to an LS. (some of you guys may see it otherwise, but...
Oh snap! Did you just pull that on the owner of the site?!?!?!?! :jester:
I do like the block with the spoon. Could you do the keychain with it? (like the black T-shirt with the white logo)
:tmc:
Wow, that makes my 16mpg with a L31 look even better with a bigger and heavier truck!
SSSooooooo.........you working on that Black Bear tune yet?? :D :naughty:
