ok well my oil and filter have reached their 5000 miles. I'm going to pull a sample and send it off. As I have never done this before I'm looking for any tips for taking the sample besides have the engine at operating temp and wait a few seconds as the oil drains before taking the sample.

Everyone always talks about what oil and filter they use in there trucks. But since I've been here we haven't talked about fuel filters. The AC delco Filter for my truck is around $24.99 and the Wix is about $14.99 Which is better?

I think most people just go in and grab a filter that fits and that's all she wrote. Also from a moving product point of view a lot of people use fram so maybe they are thinking the can sell more filters if they have a large variety of Frams.

Yea from the research I've done most ppl just take the drain plug out and refill. I even some shops. I think thats the first time that pan has been dropped.

The little bits is just clutch material the smooth looking stuff is just dark red tranny fluid the pan is black so it makes it look darker. That Fluid has 32k on it. Nissan recommends a 30k drain interval.

Well Today I Did a transmission flush as part of the 90K miles service. I also installed a Aux tranny cooler as well a radiator bypass which is recommended bypass the guys on the 2nd gen Xterra forum. I don't really have enouph pictures to do a write up but here are the ones i took. Enjoy.

That BS. I dunno Why Walmarts around me dont have a better selection of BETTER filters. Most likely because the rest of the self is Fram.

They do but I have found them to be vary limited. Last time i went in for oil I wanted to see if they had my oil filter. They didnt have a PF1218. I was like WTF? I asked the guy in the back and he said they dont even stock them anymore.
