Yup you can do both. Personally I would weld a bracket on with a shackle attached. The tow hooks pictured in this thread make me nervous about a strap or rope slipping off.

If you already have the bolt holes why are you so dead set against bolting them on? I don't know how much welding experience you have but a high grade bolt will be stronger than most amateur welding jobs. P.S. My 08 dodge was a 4x4 and didn't have tow hooks.

Put a redneck soft tonneau cover on the truck today, here's the install write up. Get a tarp from harbor freight that measures 7'6" by 5'6". Use bungee straps to to attach front to hooks in bed. Pull tarp over bed and use long bungee straps to hook to trailer hitch. :lol:

Me too :thumbs: I didn't realize Ford was owning the HD market by that much. Seems like almost everyone around here for personal use has an F250 but most company work trucks are GM's.
