    Project: STX Rehab

Depending on what the insurance company has to say, I may just contact him and see what he wants to work out.

    Project: STX Rehab

I may have to sue the guy that caused this. I do not want to because he was quick to take responsibility for this mistake. but at the same time it is not fair for me to eat this.

    Project: STX Rehab

Now this really sucks. I have been slowly accumulating the pieces and parts I need for a while now. I was planning to get started on the suspension very soon. And I almost have what I need to finish interior. I also have a new set of tires coming from a buddy of mine. Then this happened...

    Project: STX Rehab

Nothing real glamorous to report on this build, I am still sorting out the basics. Yesterday I repaired a pretty significant power steering leak. It left puddles on my driveway it was leaking so badly. That leak contributed to the nastiness under the truck. I have been working to clean it all up...

    Project: 2N resurrection

Perhaps I should have worded that differently. :p I figured little things were be there. But damn man, I can almost rebiuld this thing with off the shelf parts from TSC.

    Project: 2N resurrection

Learned some stuff while at TSC today. I had no idea most of the parts I need or will need for this 2N are hanging on hooks and sitting on the shelves in stock at TSC. New fuel bowl assemblies are $29.99 and they have all the individual parts for them. Well, with the exception of the valve I...

I meant a drawer full of wing nuts.

    Project: 2N resurrection

Cannot believe I spent so much time on this valve. I went to a few stores to try and get a new one and met with failure. So I figure no problem, I will just fix it. I have a drawer full of nuts and other similar fasteners. I tried every one in an attempt to repair it. I figured I could braze it...

Ranger will not idle right, tried everything.

I never heard of the propane trick. Will MAP gas do the same? I need a new fuel pressure gauge.

    2.9 Valve cover question

I did, however, I did not put a straight edge on it.

    2.9 Valve cover question

While I am at it, I also have a valve cover question for my 87 2.9. I know they are prone to leak. I have read the tech articles and have taken all the steps I know to take. I used the higher quality FelPro gasket, retorqued the bolts after about 100 miles, and made sure the lip was straight...

Ranger will not idle right, tried everything.

87 Ranger with a 2.9 I have tried everything I can think of the track down the idle issue with this truck. It ran like crap when I got it and it runs over 100 times better now. I have replaced the TPS, idle air valve, modulator, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, timed it, replaced vacuum lines, pulled...

    Project: 2N resurrection

Well, it would be had I not found the radiator issue. I was ready to mock up the tins and complete the final assembly. after that it should be just fluids.

    Project: 2N resurrection

Found a leak in the radiator so I pulled and flushed it. It was nice to see green coolant coming out rather than just rusty water. I am going to attempt to repair it. If it does not work, I know where a good used one is.

    Project: STX Rehab

Installed newish windshield wipers. One I bought new from the store and the other I found in a salvage yard. Yeah, that is all I gotten done lately. Took the STX out of town yesterday and it did pretty well. I have seen an improvement in fuel mileage and it shifts much better. But it still...

    Project: 2N resurrection

Made some head way. I got the air cleaner back together and did some more metal work. I think I got it as done as I can get it. There is no way I can restore the sheet metal to anything close to what it was. I straightened it out the best I could and I will be getting it back together soon. As...

I think I have it sorted out now. I have been driving it over the past couple of days after some repairs. It seems to be doing much better.
