Looking for an auto temp switch for an electric fan

I was thinking about a freeze plug mod. I have a few ideas on how to make that work. On the old Dodge i plan to do this to I might have a port in the head. But the two Fords I doubt. Good to know a GM is like that. If I can get the GMC I have built I will do that.

Looking for an auto temp switch for an electric fan

I agree. I would prefer to use a direct probe, just not stuck in the fins of the radiator. I like the screw in style if I had a place to screw it in.

Looking for an auto temp switch for an electric fan

I have been planning to convert all our truck electric fans. I was hoping to build a standard wiring harness to work with all of them using common parts. I do not want to use a store bought fan controller because of their reputation for giving out. I believe I have found, what I consider, the...

Can I delete this housing and how?

Got it. That accumulator had nothing to do with it. The fuel intertia switch went bad on me. I bypassed it and the damn thing fired right up. I spent almost three days on this issue and I never checked the easy possibility first. To make it worse, I know better. I had issues with that switch on...

Can I delete this housing and how?

Well, I thought the fuel pump might be bad because it did not do anything with the ignition on. I pulled it off and benched tested it. Then it squirted fuel all over me. I tested the connector and sure enough, no power. Either the relay is bad or the inertia switch. Funny how you fix one thing...

Can I delete this housing and how?

the blue lines are the main feed lines the other I think brown or the return lines. They go to a fuel pressure regulator which then of course goes the fuel rail. The Schrader valve has fuel coming out of it, but that could be residual.

Can I delete this housing and how?

I know where the lines go. The issue here is I can not get a definitive answer on whether or not I can delete this part all together. I've been all over Ford forums and Google and I have found a mixture of responses. My ride to the salvage yard this morning fell through when his son had to be...

This is the valve I was referring to. I have it held in place with a screw driver in the photograph.

Can I delete this housing and how?

I just started pulling the housing out again and it is full of fuel. So, fuel it getting to it. But I also have fuel in the lines after it. I am not sure if it is just residual though.

Can I delete this housing and how?

I woke up this morning and with a clear head and tried again. I used a light coat of grease to hold the O ring in place. I was ab,e to use a screw driver through the outlet tube to re position the valve. When I heard an audible click I figured it was back in place. It also stays in place when i...

Can I delete this housing and how?

After much research I found out why this thing is there. And it turn out many people have deleted it with out issue. This is not a filter housing. The filter is further up the frame rail. I want to delete it because I am in a tight spot and have to get on the road. However, I prefer to repair...

Can I delete this housing and how?

I was suppose to go out of down tonight but this damn housing is stopping me. I have an 87 Ranger with a 2.9. I was changing the fluids and fuel filer in preparation for my trip. I took this housing apart because I forgot the 87 and newer had a canister filter further up the frame rail. I guess...

I am with you. Once I get it running like it should I want to do all the fluids. Flushing both the engine and tranny are high priorities.

Picked up a first Gen STX

I doubt that is the problem. It had that sound before I replaced the plugs and wires. It is more noticeable now that the engine is running quieter. I think it is a lifter or a fuel injector.

Picked up a first Gen STX

I was going to adjust and check the valves. But the manual made it very clear that i am not to do that. I have never trusted "self adjusting" anything. it almost sounds like a plug wire arching.

Picked up a first Gen STX

Just took it for a test drive and it runs waaaaaaaaaaaaay better. It needs timing and I think I hear a vacuum leak and I have what sounds like a top end tic.
