Leo, you should ask him about heat treating the main shaft, and spreag housing (sp), to make it tougher, there should be some internal trick's to make it even tougher....find out what kind of tranny you have, and call some of the top off road shops. Not that it's the same, but I had a turbo 350...

When my F150 was Chattering", I took it into ford, they popped the cover, backed off the clutch adjustment a smidge, put in new gear oil, and friction modifier, problem went away...

Yes on the friction modifier, and the GT should be a closed rear end, also, have your dad check, and see if the outer axle seals are leaking, inside of rear tire will be wet with oil, very common in Ford rear ends, I have had to replace rear seals on both my F150, and Mustang GT. Other than...
