Really, the only exceptions would be the 8.1L and the 2500HD 6.0L, but that is due to design flaws. The lower tstat goes back to the old days when block and intake were solid iron and it made a difference.

Really it is personal preference on which you would want to go with. We had an AWD, but also lived in Virginia for much of its life. Actually, the 2WD has 3.73 gears and the AWD 4.10s, so the AWD gets off the line quicker.
