Porterbuilt Cowl Mounted Hinges came in too. Loosely assembled them and did a hardware check.
From the tons of reading I've done on the net, I knew it was a good idea to tap each threaded hole in the hinges. The threaded studs had a tendency to warp slightly during the welding process, making...
Core Support and Battery Tray cam in so I started putting that together and checking fit and what other shit I'm gonna need to order.
Still waiting on one fender but I couldn't resist bolting this one on.
Needs some tweaking to make the body lines match.
Got a little done this weekend:
Porterbuilt Tubular Core Support Crossmember came in, so I cleaned up the original core support mounts and primed and painted the parts. Install went well, had to enlarge the frame holes and bracket holes to 7/16" to accept the new hardware. Porterbuilt supplied...
Slammed trucks aren't for everybody and it doesn't bother me if people love it or hate it. I'm doing it for me and no other opinions matter, not even my wife's opinion. She hates every wheel I've looked at. Lol
Life is too short to worry about what others think, I'm just gonna have fun while I...
Yep slammed and all, since Bobby built that truck I've wanted that look for mine. I don't have the money to have him do it but I'll try to get close. Rhea's Chevys is one of the best in this area at getting 67-72's looking right.
Not much progress this weekend, just waiting on a few parts. Which is just as well since my back has been killing me all week. Lol
Core Support

 Yeah that was unexpected, i knew he was hit in the driver's front fender but the passenger side showed no damage. I was looking down the passenger side of the truck and could see the front fender pushing out. I had hoped it was all in the core support but it wasn't. :uhoh:
Several reasons but the main one is that I don't want to **** up the garage with this junk pile yet.
It will come out eventually though...
Main goal right now is get the sheetmetal on and square with the rest of the body.
Clearance what's needed to lay frame then get the whole truck to...
Making progress, the boxes are starting to come in. I get a grainy pic of a parts box every now and then from my buddy. I'll stop and pick up the stuff this week before heading home.
Big thanks to Brian for helping me with the order of stuff from Ecklers.
Got the radiator and core support...
Vintage Air installed eventually, it will keep the firewall clear and tuck most of the stuff under the dash. I don't need a glove box anyway. Lol

Not a ton of progress but I did a little tear down, still trying to figure out what all I'm going to need. Front end sheet metal for sure, rockers cab corners and a kick panels need replacing. Overall the cab is in better shape than I expected.
Removed all of the AC and heater stuff, planning...
I have had the same problem on my 2006 Silverado. Changed out the switch and thought it was fixed but the problem came back. I read somewhere online about possibly a body control module or something like that was causing it. Funny thing is it only seems to happen if it's wet outside?
I gave up...
I'm headed for Low & Slow, laying pinch weld. 22x9's up front, 24x15's out back. Engine, trans and rear will stay pretty much the same with just a little cleaning up.
Exterior: Smoothed rear end with roll pan. Front will get a roll pan and fender extenders from Grant Customs. Bed will be open...
Yeah I converted it to the serpentine belt system which meant a compressor change. I could never find anyone that could make adapter hoses for it so the conversion stalled. You got to take into consideration that I lived in a small town and all of this took place before the internet. It is so...
