    1999 Chevy 454?

IIRC all the GenVI(maybe GenVs as well) big blocks had four bolt mains and one piece rear main seal,a good thing  Mine has almost 170,000 on it and still runs strong, uses very little oil and runs cool at operating temp even in 100* weather with the A/C blasting.

What's my 72 Blazer Rear Diff?

Something very similar happened to my son's '69 Chevy p/u.the idiot po used a red wire in place of a black(IIRC,might've been the opposite)and when I connected it all was ok UNTIL I turned the key on.....came real close to having an under dash fire.
  22. dirtyoldman

What's my 72 Blazer Rear Diff?

You might have fried the ignition switch,or look for a fusible link under the dash or out on the firewall :dunno: You might have fried the wire going from the starter to the ignition switch. Get under the Blazer and check the wires connected to the starter solenoid, follow them back to the...

What's my 72 Blazer Rear Diff?

While not ideal road gears they're not that bad. What size tires you running, larger diameter would help. That being said,3200 is a bit high for freeway speeds.
