    Car overheating

You are right Cory.. it had air in it.. These Northstar engines in Cadillacs are bad about that too.. Check it again after you drive it a little ways..

    Car overheating

But that is not putting a LOAD on the engine.. Have you run a compression check or a leak down test?

    Car overheating

That does sound like a real overheating issue.. A bad head gasket can also leak combustion gases from the combustion chamber into the coolant.. Typically, unless it's really bad, it will do exactly as you described.. be just fine until you put it in gear and put a load on it.. then it will...

    Car overheating

Does the temp actually go up or is it just the gauge SHOWING that it gets hot? Does it get hot and boil over when driving it?? First thing I would do is a compression test..

If the battery is down, it WILL NOT unlock.. Also, if the key doesn't have the right resistor pellet in it, it will not unlock.

Louis.. the first thing I would do is PULL DOWN on the right side of the steering wheel to get it out of the BIND that it's in and try to turn the ignition on, It may have a "RESISTOR" key, but if you used the VIN at the dealership, the key should be correct.
