The Accord and Outback are still on our short list.

Did you guys drive the Legacy? It's basically the Outback without the wagon part on the back.. Same platform, just in sedan form, that rides a little lower to the ground..

We looked at em. We actually liked the drive of the Outback. Emily also likes the added space of the wagon. Since we love heading to Corpus and Padre, it would be a really handy car for cruising down the shores of North Padre. I've had several Subaru Brats and a 4WD Wagon in the past. Hell, my first new car was a Subaru Brat. I sorta like the quirky nature of Subarus.

You'll get special treatment in Austin now.

Gotcha on the space. They're a lot more mainstream than they used to be, though..

What about a VW cc ?
Sweet car. Every one I looked at was 35K and up. Tiguan was nice as well but pricy.

We went Volkswagen driving yesterday. The Jetta is just too small. Nice car. Well priced. Just too small. It makes our Accord seem like a giant.

The Passat is a pretty nice ride. Exterior styling is about as bland as white paint but the interior is first rate all the way except for the vinyl seats (VW calls it V-tex, but it's plastic - not leather). It has HUGE amounts of interior space and the seats are comfy. Power was adequate with the 5 cylinder and road noise was about the same as our Accord. It drives very well. Sadly lots of people on the net are complaining about electrical gremlins and having issues with the doors and deck lid not closing well... and it's too many different people complaining about the same issues to just ignore them.

Our hunt is still on.

The Accord and Outback are still on our short list.

I hear ya. I just figured with end of year discounts they could be had for mid 20s.

:lurk:

VW is pretty tight with discounts. I wasn't expecting huge savings but they are proud when they offer you 800 bucks off. One local dealer was willing to drop 1500 off of a loaded 13 Passat.

The Mustang Club edition car comes in a lot of colors. That was just the one they had on hand. The 300HP plus V6 hauls balls too. Much better than I thought.

Getting a V6 into a Mustang is just like going to the redlight house to hug the whores :jester:

No V8, no Mustang :brain:
