The big thing you're missing is efficiency. Do we have a good estimate on MPG improvements yet?

S0, 26 MPG mixed Hwy/Cty driving?

If so, that's huge. Gained 20 HP and 7 MPG at the same time? Damn.

Well I just re-read the article and it said 26hwy... but if that's true, that's a downgrade. People currently get high 20's low 30's hwy with their stick ls3s.

Well, it's not really a downgrade as fueleconomy.org shows the range of MPG below.

It's certainly lower than real world numbers but hopefully the new one will be too.

It still has some predictable flow limitations due to the 2-valve design. I remember some years ago there were some projects of a 3-valve design retaining the OHV layout, intended to be used in the High Value V6.

How much power do you want? I don't really see any of the Ls engines having restrictive flowing heads.

Sure they're not the most restrictive at all, but either a 3-valve or a 4-valve would allow an increased flow.
