I think the 43 to 40 car deal is due to lack of being able to actually fill the field at some tracks.
I agree 100%I don't think this will have the big effect that NASCAR see it having.
In the next few days, I figure someone will post a page or an article or a something showing "if the new 2013 rules had been in place for 2012, here's how the starting line-ups would've been different." I figure from about 38th back will be about the only difference... and most of those guys don't run very many laps anyway. So, who cares!?
I see this kind of like the TSA. NASCAR wants to "appear" to emphasize speed. But, it won't really change anything....
Yeah, and I liked it!!I still didn't pick Harvick though
...it ain't that good!

It looks like I have picked Harvick 7 times in 31 races and Kyle 4 in that same span..

That's only for the Nationwide folks anyway.I think the 43 to 40 car deal is due to lack of being able to actually fill the field at some tracks.

Nope. They are sticking with 43 and send some folks home. That's not to say they might not have some issues filling fields in the future though. Crowds are way down and sponsors are getting tougher to find. That's only for the Nationwide folks anyway.I think the 43 to 40 car deal is due to lack of being able to actually fill the field at some tracks.
I thought I'd read that Sprint was having trouble filling fields.![]()

"Filling the field" is a joke. Since this year's Chase started, there was only been ONE race where more than 36 cars ran more than 100 laps.. and that was at Talladega, where 38 ran more than 100..
If NASCAR wants to do something about emphasizing speed, encouraging competition on the track, etc., they need to do something about the start and park cars. It's a JOKE when you can expect at least a half dozen cars to be off the track by 100 laps in.![]()
