I like that one too, but I'm thinking it may be too extreme to some of the Mustang faithful.

Yeah, they could re-name it, call it the new Probe and I would like it much better

Many in the Mustang faithful will protest the dramatic change for the 2015 model year car, but Ford has good reason for the change. Apart from corporate ambitions to take on European sports cars, Ford has to think about the future of the iconic nameplate – something that’s currently in jeopardy as Generation Y turns away from Pony Cars towards new-era vehicles like the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

I like the aggressive thinking here.

I remember when the 93 Probes came out. I saw Bill Elliott going into the Sam's Club up in Kennesaw, Ga. I was sitting in a delivery van in front of the building. I rolled down the window and say, "Awesome Bill". He actually walked over and shook my hand. That was the 2nd time I'd met Bill. First time I met Dan, Ernie and Bill in 1985 at what used to be called Atlanta International Raceway and is now known as Atlanta Motor Speedway. Been a HUGE fan of Bill's since. Okay, I'm done...

The point of my story was, he was driving a new to the market 1993 Probe GT.

The last really big government intervention (back in 1973) sucked. Back then emission controls and safety crap almost killed the performance car entirely.

Safety is a valid concern, but spoon-feeding the reckless drivers is not the best way to go.
