So then explain this axle ratio change, please... ? You stated it was numerically lower with the 22s, but you don't know the tire size.
Sorry. It is a 3.42 with 17inch rims. Still the same gear ratio but now has 22 and it is recab. for the rims. Those size rims(17 to 22) make the gear ratio seem like it is a 2.63 though it is 3.42. Make sense?

It is the tire's outside diameter that changes this. I was curious how tall the sidewall was. The rim diameter isn't the deciding factor.

Agreed.

The ratio shouldn't change unless the overall diameter changes. Your wheel size means nothing if the diameter of the tire is the same just with a different sidewall height.

Sent from my GodPhone5.
Yes. As far as height in inches the 22 are taller. I will have to measure spare tire stock size(That would look cool if i ever have a flat lol one 17 an 3 22s)

I dont think you are getting it...

If you are running 33" tires with 17" rims and switch it to 33" tires on 22" rims, the gear ratio doesn't change at all and no matter what, the tires are the same size (33")

Now I think you are meaning that it feels sluggish because of the rotating mass (that fickle bitch) but it should read the same MPH on the speedometer if the tires are the same height.

Those tires don't look too tall.

But...it does say it has 3.23 for gears not 3.42
