I'm sure you did a finite element analysis on that to get the Von Mises stresses on the plate and calculated the necessary weld?

Yes, but truth be told I was trying my calculations through Euler's Method and I was not satisfied with "my" results...

I was able to run my problem through NEi software. So I pretty much doubled what was required...

Yeah, I cheated!
