Re: Looking at Toyota Tacoma trucks.

Price-to-truck ratio is actually not so bad considering what those compact Toyota trucks can do. Even some U.S. military use them overseas...

Driving them and what else?? Get groceries?
Brian. Stop playing idiot.

Just because it's not a big manly truck like you drive... doesn't mean it's not a truck that can do 99% of what the average truck owner needs... AND you don't have to herd a giant vehicle everywhere you go (which I am not a fan of).

:tmc:

Well if ya would learn to drive half way decent, it wouldn't be an issue.

:jester:

Guess I just don't have enough redneck DNA. I sold my 05 crewcab because it was like driving a damn bus. Screw that.

I have to agree with that!

I'm glad I don't have to drive it everyday, but I would sure miss not having it.:dunno:

Buy an FRS/BRZ if you just want something different.:lol:

Well.

The Tacoma was a no go. Nowhere near the power I'm used to out of that six and holy crap do they want a Brinks truck full of money for that little thing! Much less power than I had hoped. It's a nice little rig... but I don't think it's for me. Frontier is pretty powerful but not terribly comfortable... I've driven a bunch of them since the 05 intro. Local Nissan store has them for $6500 off of sticker so the price is not bad.

Too bad the big three don't make a modern mid sized truck. :fume:

Maybe I need to wait for the next generation GMC?

It's a :toyota: thing...Guess you don't understand.

:D

I can actually buy a very nicely equipped GMC Crewcab for a bit less than they want for the Tacoma here. The Taco is a nice (and quite capable) truck... but WOW. I love the way they look with some meaty wheels / tires.

I Agree I love tacomas. The new ones look extremely good with mods. Before I got my GMC I looked at tacomas as well but my final choice came from MPG being pretty even. I didn't want a smaller truck with the same mpg. :dunno: They are deff. a great truck but for the high price and fuel economy I think they need to step up their game

And I still see many people bashing full-size trucks for its mileage

About the compact ones: V6 guzzles too much, while the 4-bangers still feel somehow underpowered...
