Re: Looking at Toyota Tacoma trucks.

These are nearing the end of the line as far as body style is concerned. Just sayin'.
Toyota says a redo is due in 2014. My main area of concern is the 230 HP V6. That seems pretty light on power for a truck that probably weighs about as much as Fred... or close.

These damn things are almost as expensive as a new GMC. I'm gonna have to be really impressed to consider one, but I like the size of it. Too bad GM and Ford don't offer anything like it.

Hell, a new Fred will probably be cheaper.

Don't let the horsepower number fool you, it's a stout 236hp. No hotrod but runs pretty good. I was fairly surprised they didn't drop the updated 270hp 4.0 into the refreshed 12 model from the 4Runner, Tundra, FJ though. :dunno:

I've had tons of seat time in one (a really good friend has one) and seriously thought about getting. I just couldn't justify the price and then I got my Sierra instead for about 6k less.

Price to truck ratio (or lack there of) doesn't make sense... But at least you won't lose on it....

It's almost like buying a Duramax that is slammed to the ground and can't pull a trailer for more then what your house cost...

Ok, I over exaggerate a little... Maybe.

Price-to-truck ratio is actually not so bad considering what those compact Toyota trucks can do. Even some U.S. military use them overseas...
